Students

At Project SHINE, college students build intergenerational friendships as tutors and coaches working in small groups, working one-on-one with older immigrants or helping in ESL classes.

Students volunteer at least 20 hours per semester, and in return cultivate a greater understanding of different cultures - as well as their own.  Students also develop a deeper appreciation for the meaning and process of citizenship and gain understanding about aging and diversity within the United States.
